Louisa Mojela is one of South Africa’s most influential and successful businesswomen. She is the Chairman and Group CEO of Wiphold, a company she co-founded with three other colleagues in 1994. Wiphold is a large diversified investment holding company, previously listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. In 2000, Louisa was selected as one of 40 women from different continents and countries for the “Leading Women Entrepreneur of the World.” In 2016, Louisa won the European Business Assembly’s “Best Manager of the Year” at an event held at the London School of Economics. Louisa hails from the Mafeteng district of Lesotho, where Bophelo Bioscience’s Lesotho operations are situated. She is a Founder and a Trustee of the Maputhi Matoso Development Trust – which is focused on various social development initiatives in Lesotho. Louisa has served on the board of Distell, Sasol Mining Limited, Sun International, and Life Healthcare Holdings.
